Here is an open source project that can give you an idea or two on how to build your own haptic gloves to control robots or interact with VR objects. Remote Feelings has 4 sensing resistors built into each finger. When given a command via USB or wirelessly, the motors can give your fingers feedback so you can feel virtual objects.
