Smartwatches seem to get all the attention this year. But the next couple of years is going to be about smart glasses. Google GLASS and EPSON Moverio are already interesting devices. Sony wants to get a piece of the pie as well. Sony’s SmartEyeglass happens to be an augmented reality device with a wired controller.

The device has 3 mm thick lenses and offers more than 85% light transmittance. Its brightness is up to 1000 cd/m2. The device is equipped with an accelerometer, gyroscope, electronic compass, brightness sensor, and a microphone.  You also get a SDK with an emulator and tools to create augmented reality apps. It will be interesting to see how popular devices like this will be in a few years.
