Virtual reality and augmented reality technologies are going to become even more sophisticated in the future. There are already a bunch of interesting VR solutions available on the market. Thanks to this 3D printed sculptural cockpit, you are going to have a fun way to experience virtual environments. Micah Ganske needed 75 days of total print time divided across multiple machines to complete this 6 feet sculpture.
Here is how the developer explained it:
When a viewer enters the virtual experience, they find that the cockpit is replicated virtually but that it is transformed into a fully enclosed, glass EVA vehicle which transports them through a fully realized space habitat. As the airlock doors open, and the Ocular EVA Pod enters space, the viewer sees the other anatomical spacecraft sculptures from my previous exhibition
