NYPD Google Glass Beta Testing Happening?

Looks like more law enforcement agencies might use devices like Google Glass to fight crime in the future. VentureBeat is claiming that the NYPD is beta-testing Google Glass.

We signed up, got a few pairs of the Google glasses, and we’re trying them out, seeing if they have any value in investigations, mostly for patrol purposes

a ranking New York City law enforcement official told Venture Beat. Of course, we know that with facial recognition technology, Google Glass could be irresistible to  law enforcement agencies. Whether this is going to make more people uncomfortable with Google Glass is another story. But these wearable devices are coming, and I can’t see how anyone can stop them.
