Apple iWatch with Environmental Sensors?

Apple is going to ship the iWatch later this year. The device is expected to serve as a fitness and notification tracker. But it could offer a lot more. A recently discovered pair of documents seems to suggest that Apple is planning to add environmental sensors to wearables and future smartphones.

What could these sensors offer? They could track temperature, pressure, humidity and sound. The sensor package is protected from damage through use of an integrated rigid support structure. As Apple Insider has reported, theses applications were filed for in 2012. No guarantee we will these ideas implemented this year.
