CirculaFloor: Robot Tiles For Moving in VR

VR-Robot-Tiles

Using Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and other VR headsets to play games is a lot of fun. But you are going to need a safe area not to bump against valuable things around as you move. You can always buy a VR treadmill to address that problem. Researchers at VR Laboratory, University of Tsukuba have a robotic solution for this.

These robot tiles move as users walk in virtual environments. They move in all directions while roughly maintaining the original position of the user. What do you think? Are you impressed with this idea?
