DIY: Arduino VR Skateboard

build-arduino-vr-skateboard

We have already covered a bunch of exciting VR controllers that lets you get a more realistic gaming experience. If you know your Arduino and sensors, you can always build your own. As this video from Matthew Hallberg shows, it is possible to use an accelerometer/gyro and Arduino board with a skateboard for VR gaming.

These smart components transmit the angular motion of the board via Bluetooth into your games. You are going to need an Android phone compatible with Google Cardboard to get started. For this project, you will need a skateboard, 1 x HC-06 Bluetooth module, 1 x MPU-6050 accelerometer/gyro, 1 x Arduino Leonardo, and a few other parts to get started.
