Virgin Atlantic To Try Apple’s iBeacon

We reported a while ago that Virgin Atlantic was planning to test Google Glass to better serve its customers. It is now planning to use Apple’s iBeacon technology at London’s Heathrow airport. At least, that’s what re/code is reporting at this time. The technology will be used to provide offers to customers around the airport. Virgin Atlantic has been using Passbook, so the transition should be easy. How successful this will be is not known. But it is nice to see all these companies try new technologies like this.
