LG and Garmin have unveiled new fitness bands at CES 2014. We already knew about LG’s Lifeband. This is a wearable device that keeps track of calories burned, steps walked, and other stats with a 3-axis accelerometer and altimeter. The OLED touch display shows users phone notifications, biometric data, and lets you play music. The Lifeband is compatible with Android and iOS phones through Bluetooth 4.0.
Garmin has also entered the fitness tracking market this year. The Vivofit is a smart wearable device that learns your activity level and determines achievable daily goals. It alerts you when you are sitting for too long. The device offers social features as well. It is compatible with the Garmin Connect community. The Vivofit will set you back $129 and $169.99 (with heart rate monitor).
