Riding a bike at night can be dangerous if you don’t keep yourself visible. The Intelligent Blinker happens to be a wristband that flashes when a rider reaches out to signal a turn. The device has an accelerometer and a magnetometer that can detect the position of the user’s arm. The Intelligent Blinker also has small solar panels connected to its battery.
The inventors, 5 EPFL PhD students, plan to make the device more compact and energy efficient. It will also have additional sensors to offer riders more features. What do you think? Are you impressed?
