Intel Project Alloy: Cord-free Merged Reality VR Platform

Intel Project Alloy

In the future, VR headsets will have less cable. Take Intel’s Project Alloy for instance. It lets users operate without having to deal with cords. With collision detection and avoidance, users will be able to safely explore virtual environments.

Alloy’s merged reality is made possible with Intel RealSense cameras. You will be able to see your hands and walls you are about to run into. Intel is expected to open Alloy’s hardware and provide open APIs for it.
