There are plenty of advanced robotic hands for amputees these days. Researchers are always looking to make them more responsive and lightweight. Engineers at MIT and Shanghai Jiao Tong University have designed a soft, lightweight artificial limb that provides users real-time tactile control.

This smart hand weighs about 0.5 pound. It is made with components around $500. Its design looks similar to the robot from the film Big Hero 6. It is made with EcoFlex and has a 3D printed palm.
