Haptic Telepresence Robot With Immersive Operation

Hybrid Hydrostatic Transmission Haptic Telepresence Robot

Controlling robots from a distance is nothing new. This Haptic Telepresence Robot uses hydrostatic transmission for joints that operate bidirectionally. The humanoid robot has 2 x 4DOF arms and stereo cameras on a 2-DOF neck to stream live video to the operator’s head-mounted display. The operator can control the robot and feel interaction forces between the robot and its environment.
