EYE-SYNC: Concussion Detection Using Virtual Reality

Concussions are not rare for athletes. What happens after a concussion is important though. EYE-SYNC is an integrated head-mounted eye tracking device that analyzes eye movement to determine when a concussion has taken place. The device monitors eye movement in a handheld virtual reality environment. It notifies the trainer in less than a medical timeout if something is wrong.

EYE-SYNC is designed to help medical professionals with screening on the field. It weighs less than 5 pounds. It has shown a greater than 0.8 test-retest reliability in tests. More information is available here.
