EM-Sense: Smartwatch To Detect What You Touch

em sense

In the future, your wearable device will know what you are touching. EM-Sense can recognize electrical and electromechanical objects. Most of these objects emit small amounts of EM noise during regular operation. When you come in contact with them, the EM signal propagates through your body. EM-Sense detects these signals in real-time for on-touch object detection. The sensor is self-contained and can be worn on the body.

The above video offers more insight into how this technology works.
