AuraSense: Around-Smartwatch On-Skin Interaction

Smartwatches don’t have the largest display, so getting everything done on their screen is not always convenient. AuraSense explores the idea of adding around-watch interactions to smartwatches. In other words, you will be able to use on-skin buttons, sliders, or 2D trackpad for gesture input.

Smartwatch interactions are made possible using electric field sensing. As you can see in the above video, the watch will be able to track your finger’s position in 3D and understand wrist gestures.
