Google Releasing Android Wear iOS Compatibility Soon?

The Apple Watch is going to start shipping soon. Millions of people are expected to get it, but the watch is not going to be the right option for everyone. Google is going to have an easier time encouraging people to adopt an Android Wear watch by offering iOS compatibility for the platform. A source has told the Verge that Google is almost ready to add iOS support to Android Wear.

The current app apparently supports basic functions such as notifications, voice search, and other voice actions. Questions still remain about how far Google can go with this project. The move does put Android Wear watches in direct competition with the Apple Watch though. Of course, as we have covered it in the past, it is already possible to use an Android Wear watch with an iPhone.
