AfterGuard: Google Glass Like Device for Sailing

Google Glass has already captured the imagination of many tech enthusiasts. It is not the only smart glasses around though. AfterGuard happens to be a HUD system for sailing. It integrates Recon’s Heads Up Display into a racing system to give your crew relevant information. The system is designed to provide you with critical information at the right time to help you make decisions faster. StartSequence, Virtual Tactician and Performance Dashboard screens take the guesswork out of the process and help you win.

The Afterguard system uses the Central Communications Unit (CCU) to pull data from your boat’s instruments and displays the data as useful information for your crew. It should work in any boat. You get up to 6 hours of battery life. The device ships in Fall 2014.
