NTT DoCoMo Demoing VR Control of Robots Over 5G

In the past few months, we have covered plenty of wearables that can be used to teleoperate robots. NTT DoCoMo has recently demoed VR control of robots over 5G. Virtual reality cameras are used to capture a live 3D image of the area. A set of 5G antennas are used to transmit the data.

As the headset moves, users will be able to view the simulated factory floor without needing cable. IDG’s video sheds more light on the technology.
