Haptics for VR Walls & Objects Using EMS

Here is a VR solution that adds haptics to virtual objects using electrical muscle stimulation, enabling you to feel walls and heavy objects. Developed by Pedro Lopes, Sijing You, Lung-Pan Cheng, Sebastian Marwecki, and Patrick Baudisch at the Hasso Plattner Institute, Haptics for VR Walls consists of a laptop running the experience and a muscle stimulator in a backpack.

As you touch a virtual wall, a counter force is created using EMS. You will also get a more realistic experience picking up objects.
