Pebble + Misfit for Activity Tracking

Pebble smartwatches are already pretty awesome. With the latest partnership between Pebble and Misfit, you now get activity tracking on your smartwatch without needing a phone or a Shine wearable. The Misfit watchapp is now available in the Pebble appstore, allowing users to count steps and track their activities right from their wrist. Here is what the team had to say about it:

no smartphone or Shine required. In addition, Misfit’s latest iOS app will be available from Apple’s App Store soon. It includes support for Pebble watches and tracks additional metrics such as calories burned and distance traveled.

The blog post suggest that this is only the first step in the partnership. It will be interesting to see how this evolves in the upcoming months.
