Basis Peak Watches Recalled

Basis Peak Notifications

Remember the Basis Peak watch? If you own one, you may want to stop using it. According to Intel, these watches are being recalled after reports of overheating. The goal was to fix the issue with a software update, but it seems that’s not quite possible. You can always return your watch and its accessories for a full refund:

On June 13 we shared reports of overheating in Basis Peak watches, and we recommended that you stop wearing your Basis Peak watch right away. We had hoped to update the software on your watch to address the problem. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we aren’t able to develop such a solution without completely compromising the user experience. As a result, we are asking that you return your Basis Peak watch and authorized accessories for a full refund at your earliest convenience.

The watch gets hot enough to cause burns and blisters on the skin. Even if you would like to keep the watch, support for it is being stopped immediately. Basis Peak services will be turned off on December 31.
