ARCore: Augmented Reality Kit for Android

Google is getting even more serious about augmented reality. The company has just announced ARCore. It is a software development kit that allows coders to bring augmented reality capacities to existing and future Android phones. It works without additional software, so millions of devices will benefit.

The Pixel and Samsung’s S8 running 7.0 Nougat will get to experience it now with more phones to be supported very soon. Developers will be able to use your phone’s camera for motion tracking. ARCore can detect horizontal surfaces and observes the ambient light to allow developers to achieve more realistic virtual objects. More info is available here.
